Early Intervention Support That Meets Students Where They Are.
Many students facing social, emotional, or confidence challenges won't engage with traditional counselling or wellbeing services. But waiting until needs escalate isn't an option.
Schools need flexible, professional early intervention programs that work alongside existing student support services.
That’s where HAD IN SCHOOLS COMES IN!
Sitting at the intersection of youth well-being, sport-based engagement, and mentoring, our program offers a "light-touch intervention" designed to reach a broad base of students, particularly those who may not engage with traditional support settings.
Our mentors come to you.
Programs run during school hours on school grounds, integrating seamlessly with your timetable and existing wellbeing framework.
FAQs
-
HAD in Schools is a mentoring program delivered on-site at Victorian primary and secondary schools. Our trained mentors combine movement-based activities with guided conversation to support students' confidence, connection, and social-emotional wellbeing. We work with students in the early intervention space (Tier 2) who benefit from relationship-based support.
-
Students experiencing low confidence, social challenges, disengagement, or difficulty regulating emotions. Students navigating transitions, friendship issues, or emerging stress. Students who won't engage with traditional counselling but respond to informal, movement-based support. Our program is designed for Tier 2 (early intervention) students, not those requiring clinical or crisis intervention.
-
Mentors attend your school for a 2-hour block each week for a minimum of 3 consecutive weeks. During each visit, they run four mentoring sessions (30 minutes each) in 1:1 or small group (2-3 students). Schools nominate suitable students, obtain parent consent, and we handle the rest - from session delivery to progress updates.
-
We offer flexible program packages:
3 weeks: Short-term, intensive support or trial programs for schools new to our program (Introductory offer only)
5 weeks: Our most popular option for building relationships and measurable progress.
If you need additional extended support for deeper impact and sustained behavioural change upon completion of a program, contact us to request additional sessions.
Programs run consecutively (same day/time each week) and can be extended if needed.
-
Our mentors are elite or aspiring-elite athletes chosen for their character, empathy, and ability to connect. They’re relatable, down-to-earth role models who build trust quickly and make a genuine difference. All hold a current Working With Children Check.

Small groups (2-3 students) build peer connection, practice social skills in real-time, and reduce isolation through shared experiences. Maximum 12 students per program block per mentor (4× 1:3 30 min sessions per 2 hour block per mentor).
